Joy and Nomi took the plunge and signed up for their first 10km running race ever in May 2010 in Singapore at the Sundown Race event...Then they trained for a half marathon in the fall of 2010, Joy's in Canada and Nomi's in Malaysia...Then, they finished their second-ever half marathon in Singapore May 2011 at the Sundown Race event, but this time they ran together!

Then their sporting paths diverged: Nomi went on to run marathons while Joy learned how to ride a bike. This blog charts their progress from 2010 to 2012.

Flab

Nomi says:

Well, Lulu and me did run for 3 hours, and boy did i suffer after that. I mean you'd think that after running for so long, one would be able to handle the stresses of a long run well...but no.....the legs ached, the small muscles of the foot hurt and i couldn't run much after that for quite a few days. So i used the elliptical machine and the one that simulated rowing at the gym. You know, as you age, the body finds devious places to store fat....Since one runs, the legs, thighs and bum is pretty much toned. So it looks for nooks and crannies that are under exercised to deposite oodles of fatty tissue and one of the targets is all that skin under the armpits. I mean i never had fat hanging there...and how i have!!! It looks awful and it bulges above the bra straps. I hope the rowing will control it a bit...My clothes have become tight across the chest and it's not due to well endowed boobs...oh no...it's FAT circling the arm-pits!
